The College of Education presents the Dr. June James III Endowed Award, which honors two recipients with a $500 scholarship. Dr. June James believed in the value of an education for all students especially the underrepresented minority student. He was a very proud family and religious man with an excellent memory and good sense of humor. Dr. June James was known for taking time to offer advice to all. In many ways, he was an ambassador between The University of Texas at Arlington and the minority Arlington community. He was also a devoted advocate for UT Arlington. The funds for this scholarship was funded by gifts from memorial donors and members of the African American Faculty and Staff Association.
