African American Faculty and Staff Association (AAFSA) is opening nominations for UTA faculty and staff who meet the following criteria:
- The AAFSA Reby Cary Faculty Excellence Award honors outstanding accomplishments among full-time faculty (tenure-stream and non-tenure-stream) at the University of Texas at Arlington who have meaningfully impacted the field of African American Studies and/or his/her area of expertise through teaching, research, and/or service. Honorees have advocated for diversity, inclusion, and/or social justice for underrepresented groups both on campus and in the broader community.
- The AAFSA Staff Excellence Award honors full-time staff at the University of Texas at Arlington who have influenced the UT Arlington community with regard to service, social justice, and/or mentorship as it relates to and benefits the African -American community and its surroundings. The award recognizes staff who excel in the areas of social justice, mentorship, and volunteerism.
